UP ranks 25th on the Human Development Index, among 28 states.
Among 20 major states of the country, UP stands 18th on Social Development Index.
Proportion of Population living below poverty line(2004-05) : 25.5%.
Literacy rate : 56.3%
But ruling party is getting rich and richer, surprise to know it is third wealthiest party after Congress and BJP.
We may upset by the figures but this is reality.As a person what we can do for our state. Do we have anything common planning as an individual being for betterment. We are blaming all the time for worst situation, but what our responsibility as a resident of state. Blame game must stop and some creative positive idea must come forward. Everywhere there is lacuna. Political system is not working properly. Time has come, vacuum is there, common people have to fill the vacuum.

Really thought provoking piece Satish. But a little bit of correction according to Hindustan Times BSP is not the third richest but second richest party in India.
